Upper Beaconsfield Toy Library

Opening Hours and Membership

The library is open MONDAYS between 11.30am and 1.30pm during school terms (Closed on public holidays). Membership is available throughout the year and is 12 months from when you join. We are closed over the Summer school holidays (usually from around 2 weeks before Christmas Day and returning around the first week of February), no toys can be borrowed over this period due to stocktaking and stock updating.

Opening hours are subject to changes due to unforeseen circumstances and are reviewed yearly. Our Winter opening hours are every fortnight compared to weekly for the rest of the year.

🔹 If it’s your first visit to the library or Centre it might pay to call the Centre first to check and confirm times of availability.

Membership registration forms are available at the library and the Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre office. You can complete the initial online form available HERE but will need to complete further details on your first visit with us.

Our Terms & Conditions can be found HERE or found at the bottom of the Home Page and also available as a printed copy at the library.

Fees

Annual Family Membership for 12 months is $50 plus volunteering duties*. The additional Community Centre annual membership fee has been waived for toy library members for the reminder of this year. Your membership includes completing a toy library duty requirement.

Some toys carry a toy hire bond fee.

What does duty involve?

During the year we may ask you to assist with a duty task, especially as member numbers increase. Duty may consist of either the following:

assisting staff and volunteers during a toy library session for up to 2.5 hours, 3 to 4 times a year (ie: recording, counting and cleaning of returned and loaned toys).

And/or other duties such as: cleaning & maintaining toys/storage items, toy labelling and entering, help with fundraising/stocktake/events or another nominated means of assistance.

We know your free time is important to you and will try to keep any duty tasks to a minimum. Please feel free to enquire or tell us how you can assist as a member. Being involved helps us run the library more efficiently, helps maintain toys and can be a lot of fun for you and your family. Some tasks can be done at your own home.

Become a volunteer! 😃

The Toy Library and Community Centre welcome all volunteers. Any contribution is very much appreciated. Both toy library and the Centre have specific volunteer roles available or if you have a skill or trade that may assist us, we would love to hear from you. These volunteer roles can be made to suit your availability, help gain experience, great for Resumes, build confidence, help learn a new skill, help maintain the upkeep of running a service and involve being part of a team and the community. And remember some tasks can be done in your own home. Enquire at anytime, positions and tasks always arise, they may be one-off tasks or ongoing, short or long term, we’re very flexible. Why not contact us now, we would love to hear from you.
